We believe the City of Burbank failed to follow the State-mandated requirements of the SB35 statute when they approved the SB35 development at 910 S. Mariposa in Burbank.
The City approved the construction of this development in a location that endangers the public health and safety of all users of the Burbank City streets in the immediate vicinity of 910 S. Mariposa, all users of the Perimeter Trail of the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, and all users of the Mariposa Bridge.
This development is located just feet from the LA River, along a Habitat Corridor identified under the Los Angeles River Ecosystem Restoration Project, (which is a project funded by Congress to restore native riparian, freshwater marsh and aquatic habitat communities along the Los Angeles River). The construction of this development at this location endangers the wildlife habitats.
Rancho residents formed a non-profit corporation and filed a lawsuit against the City of Burbank to stop the condo development.
